Reported by: Van Applegate and Adam Winer Monday, Oct 26, 2009 @12:34pm EDT BIG POOL, MD - Two teenagers have been captured at a home in Big Pool, Maryland after escaping from a juvenile detention facility in a stolen car, according to Maryland State Police troopers.
The youths escaped from the Meadow Mountain Youth Center in Grantsville, Md. They stole a car from a staff member, troopers say. A trooper spotted them on I-70 and tried to pull them over, but it quickly turned into a high-speed chase. Deputies used "stop sticks" to deflate their tires near the Hancock area. The youths pulled off at the Big Pool exit and stopped near an Exxon station. They were both captured inside a house next to St. Paul's Methodist Church. Police used a taser on one of the teens. He was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, according to the Maryland State Police. The other youth was taken to the Hagerstown barracks for question, troopers say. |
