Reported by: Jacqueline Waite Sunday, Oct 25, 2009 @06:10pm EDT FREDERICK, MD - Walkers laced up their shoes and hit the streets of downtown Frederick Sunday to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association.
The annual memory walk is the Alzheimer's Association's largest fundraiser. They are hosted all around the country. Sunday's walk started on the campus of the Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick. The association holds six walks in Maryland, but organizers say the Frederick one is the biggest. Cass Naugle of the Alzheimer’s Association said, "The community really comes out and supports this annual event. And it benefits the services that we provide for families dealing with Alzheimer's Disease and also research." The final walk in Maryland will be held next Saturday at Oregon Ridge Park in Cockeysville. |
