Reported by: Jamie Burke Thursday, Oct 15, 2009 @11:03pm EDT MARTINSBURG, WV - West Virginia Treasurer John Perdue was in Martinsburg Thursday.
Perdue stopped at Martinsburg High School to talk to students about finance. He also discussed things like financial education, including the dangers of credit card debt, the nature of interest rates, and other economic topics. Perdue hosted an office technology training course as well at the Martinsburg High School library for Berkeley County employees to learn computer programs, such as Excel. "I talked to a civics class and some of the seniors that are getting ready to go into the real world of college, and so I talked to them a little bit about their financial situation, what they would face when they get to college about credit card debt," said Perdue. Perdue will be holding a mobile office Friday at the Berkeley Springs Senior Center starting at 11 am. |
