Reported by: Jamie Burke Wednesday, Sep 2, 2009 @07:56pm EDT BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV - The clock tower on the new Morgan County Courthouse was installed three years after a devastating fire.
Wednesday was an exciting day as people lined the streets to watch the lifting of the clock. For some it was also a healing process. The loss of the courthouse was also the loss of a staple of downtown Berkeley Springs. In a field sits the remains of the old clock tower, out of sight and out of mind. The new clock tower was delicately placed atop the new Morgan County Courthouse, a special moment in time for the residents of Berkeley Springs and those working on the building. The building is scheduled for completion by next April. |
