Reported by: Van Applegate Wednesday, Aug 20, 2008 @06:08pm EDT SHARPSBURG, MD - A Washington County man really, really wanted to have a cheeseburger for lunch. He'd heard that the burgers at the Battleview Market in Sharpsburg were pretty good, so he decided to walk to get one. However, his house 12 miles away! Priscilla Myers, the Battleview Market manager, comes into the store where Justin Clarambeau works, and he says the two of them joke around. She raves about the cheeseburgers, but Clarambeau doesn’t drive. An agreement was made: if Clarambeau walked out to the market, he would get a free meal on the house. Clarambeau said, “I just got out of bed and started walking. I get one day off week, so I figured I might as well do something."He told NBC25 the burger was worth the hike, and he especially liked the fact that the sandwich was served on a sub roll. The owner of the Battleview Market kept her promise and didn't charge him for the burger. Clarambeau didn't have to walk all the way home. One of his friends picked him up. |
