Mike Grogan joined the NBC25 team as the weekend meteorologist in August 2008. Born and raised in Tulsa, OK, he has always had a passion for the weather. Now he is thrilled to be tracking the weather in the four-state region.
Mike graduated cum laude from Valparaiso University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Meteorology. He was President of the Northwest Indiana Chapter of the National Weather Association while in school and is currently a member of the American Meteorological Society. He also studied communications and spent a semester abroad in Mexico.
Mike's early interest in severe weather really began when his home in Oklahoma was hit by a small tornado. Now, he has become an avid storm chaser in his spare time, logging over 35 days chasing severe weather in 16 different states. During the summer of 2007 Mike interned at KOTV in Tulsa, where he assisted in many severe weather situations.
When he is not tracking your weather, Mike enjoys being in the great outdoors whether it be on the tennis court, ski slopes, or on a backpacking trail. He will never pass up an opportunity to travel, watch a good movie, pursue his interest in photography, or spend time with family and friends.
Mike looks forward to being involved in various events in the four state region and enjoying all of its four seasons.
