Reported by: Jackie Cutler Saturday, Jun 14, 2008 @05:18pm EDT FREDERICK, MD – A group of local children are proving that they too can be heroes.
On Saturday at Frederick’s Teddy Bear Picnic, the kids sold lemonade all for the worthy cause of helping children with cancer. The kids plan to use the money they raise from selling lemonade to buy Webkinz, a popular stuffed animal that lets kids play with their teddy bears via the web. The efforts from the lemonade sale are part of a website they launched. You can find the link by clicking here. ![]() "And that showcases and promotes children who are doing outstanding things in the community. It's absolutely. It's a pretty humbling experience actually to see what some of these kids are doing," said Gabe O'Neill. Gabe said his nine-year-old daughter, Mary Margaret, came up with the idea after she saw another kid selling lemonade to help a friend who was sick. |
