Mary King joined the NBC 25 news team as a general assignment reporter in May of 2008 and has since been promoted to Morning Anchor.

Before coming to WHAG, Mary spent time at FOX News, NY with E.D. Hill on America’s Pulse, as well as WCCB FOX Charlotte. During this time, she was truly inspired by some of the best people in the news business.  She remains a member of both the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

In May of 2008, Mary graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Broadcast Journalism degree from Troy University in Troy, Alabama. As an anchor, reporter and a member of the award winning TrojanVision news team, Mary received awards for her reporting through the National Broadcasting Society, and in March, she was named the Southeast Journalism Conference Television Journalist of the Year.  

Mary’s love for the news is fueled by her passion for the community. Since February, she has served as Miss Western Maryland 2009. Through her service to the community Mary is able to advocate for the arts, athletics and volunteerism with her personal program aKa: active Kids achieve. This program was recognized by the Miss America organization for it contribution to community service.  And, most recently, Mary was named Miss Maryland’s Sweetheart 2009.
