LUKE, MD – Environmental concerns were a priority as the governor continued his visit in western Maryland stopping at a paper mill in Allegany County.
O’Malley toured the New Page Paper Mill just before Noon. It's a place that will be greatly affected by new legislation that will reduce carbon emissions 25% by 2020.
The governor acknowledged corporate anxiety surrounding the changes, but he said the new law is needed for the future. “If we do not turn around the threat of climate change, none of us may be here by 2150,” said O’Malley.

The governor rounded out his day with a trip to Flintstone, Maryland where he participated in the Western Maryland Democratic Caucus.
